I guess that's the main thing when you live alone. You become soooo domesticated! Haha.... It's funny...but it isn't that bad...I think. Hey babe, I'm starting to realise why you like grocery shopping so much. I kinda enjoy it too now :) Although I can't cook for nuts, and I like my instant stuff. I made sausages and mushrooms today. Put them in the pan for a while and stuffed them in my bread and added lettuce. Yummy. Wasn't anything too awesome, but still not bad for a first try :)
The mushrooms taste great! I'm gonna make more mushrooms next time! Probably eat them with ham next time. I need to finish my bread soon...
I'm gonna try making pasta sometime soon too, since I got the pasta and the sauce and the mushrooms and the ham, haha. Yes, did you hear that dear? I am actually gonna TRY to cook! Wow XD Amazing huh?
My floormates are nice :) We all sat around and chatted for quite a while... Hmm, but I need to go out and meet more people. Just sticking around with my floormates won't be that good I think. So far I've only met a handful of people, not many Canadians actually... Maybe in my other classes. The Econs classes are really stagnant - you just gotta sit there and ABSORB and only examinations and some assignments here and there. It's good I suppose... easy.... Well, not easy, but simple? Commerce mods are more rar-rar, as usual. So that involves like, projects and debates and class part (oh doesn't tt sound familiar!) and all that stuff.
I got class at 10am tomorrow... So I gotta sleep a little earlier. Maybe 1230am or something... It's 1145am now. Might go to print some of my readings tomorrow, I'm not sure. But I got tons of readings to do tomorrow to prep for Thursday's class. Signing off!

Hello Canadaaa!
Yes, I am in Kingston, Ontario, Canada right now. I think I am still feeling kinda delirious about this exchange thing. I am totally fine with staying away from home, ha-ha, no surprise right... My only gripe is with FOOD...and for now, laundry too. Ugh. I feel sooo domesticated! I still got some basic things I need to settle, like open a bank account and buy some groceries and (if possible) a nice laundry bag/basket thingy. And oh, I need to get a Canadian cell line. They don't call it handphone nor mobiles here in Canada, they call it "cell" - so American. And they say, TEXT, not message nor SMS.
Weather is pretty cold... But I am quite warm most of the time. Unless I'm drinking cold stuff - like Coke - then I'll get cold fast. I bought some chinese food at the school cafeteria just now. It's alright...Any food is okay compared to my cooking I suppose. Room is really warm, I turned up the heater a little. And I'm staying on the basement level. Buildings here are cute, they're built downwards instead of upwards. So level 3 is like, ground level, and you go down and it's level 2 and lower again it's level 1. They usually build up to 4 or 5 levels at most. It's just much colder as you go up I suppose.
I live with a few other exchange students on my floor. They're a friendly bunch :) The neighbour opposite me is Australian, he's from Perth. There's a Finnish guy living next to me, and they're both into Jrock, visual kei too! The Australian dude likes anime as well :) So there's a nice common topic of interest. And then there's a German girl, she has a cool name. And down the floor are two other girls from Netherlands (they're Dutch), a girl from China and an Italian guy. My room's all the way at the end, sounds kinda dodgy but I realise it's a good location cos it's nestled in the middle of the building (I'm warm!), it means it's safer, cos it's further away from the exit/entrance, and it's not that close to the bathroom and kitchen, so I won't get bad smells or hear people walking in and out of the bathroom that often :)
Speaking of bad smells....I feel like I am kinda smelly! =( Although I don't really think so lah... Okay, I need to buy perfume. Haha... I wanted to bring my Boss Femme bottle but there was really no space in my luggage. I guess I'll have to buy it somewhere now.
It's kinda fun to settle into a hostel room. And my room isn't that bad! Save for the carpet.... Everything else is okay. Haha. Cos the carpet has like, strange black spots... anyway I am not walking anywhere barefooted. I've got two slippers, the wear-outside, around hostel slipper (my Havys) and the bedroom slipper, my cute comfy blue eeyore slippers. The room is still quite empty, I suppose. But I don't wanna put up too many things cos it'll be a pain trying to take everything down again, haha. I put up like, 2 or 3 posters of Gazette and Kuroshitsuji. Now I kinda wish I brought one or two more... Looks too barren! :( I don't think I'll find such posters here in Kingston though... Ughh...
I've just got so much on my mind... It's getting quite hard writing all that down. But I must do it now before I forget...and forget this awesome experience.
Hmm, I went for the Commerce School orientation. It was kinda lame, a little boring, but I suppose I am a little clearer about Queens and stuff. There was a bowling event last night, I went with 2 other floormates and got to know a few exchange students. I guess it's always good to get to know more people. I need to remind myself to get out of my comfort zone! I love this experience and I'm gonna try my best to really go out there and experience it all :) There was a house party for tonight and some girls asked me if I wanted to go, but I guess I won't... It starts late, like 930pm... And that's late for me, cos I don't really have direct transport home and I really don't wanna go home alone so late.
There's a hockey game that we're going to watch on Friday night. I'm looking forward to that :) It will surely be fun...a "true" Canadian experience! Haha. And then ice skating.
I would be bluffing if I said that I didn't feel some kinda inferiority complex with these Canadians/Caucasians. Even though everyone else are exchange students as well, they're still "white" and I guess it's still okay...? I'm not sure. Everyone immediately thinks you're from China...and my lousy English doesn't really help, ha-ha. But the good thing about this is that all these exchange students are generally already very open-minded and more accepting of diversity and differences. If they weren't they wouldn't even sign up for exchange! And Queens kinda reveres their exchange programme and so all exchange students are really treated well. The profs also sound much more interested in you when you say you're an exchange student, ha-ha. Well, there are perks!
Ok, I guess that's enough. I gotta get back to residence first and put my things down before I head out again.
And one last note, I don't really miss Singapore much....all except my darling girlfriend. Sigh. I wish I could have brought you along with me. You would love it here. They're so much more efficient than Australia! Goodness.... Ha-ha! :) -Kisses.
