Gayer Than Rainbows
This week has been awesome. Went to the SPCA headquarters to help stuff newsletters. I think I did about a thousand on the days I was there! Made some new friends, in particular, a very colourful character who's super talkative and keeps telling me about his past and other philosophical 'older' people experience etc. I went to the dentist too! Thank goodness even after 3years of not seeing one, all he did was some cleaning and polishing. He also did an x-ray on my wisdom tooth, apparently it's position is not-so-ideal but there's no problem atm.
Girlfriend went to the dentist too! She had her wisdom tooth extracted lol. It seemed so painful and cumbersome, I dread the day I have to get it removed. That's why I bought floss immediately. I'm gonna make sure that wisdom tooth of mine gives as little trouble as possible, cos I'd like to keep my wisdom, thank you very much.
The old debate team went back to TK yesterday morning =) Even though there were only 5 of us, I'd say we made quite a din when we were standing outside the staffroom, talking to various teachers! Haha...but I'm glad most of our teachers still remember us =D
Then, girlfriend and I went to a lesbian club for the first time, together with her good friend from Perth! It was quite an experience (only because of the GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS lol) I must admit, I felt kinda odd at first...because seriously, I've never seen so many lesbos at once before!! But if I really had to choose, I think I'd pass up going to an all-straight club than a gay one. Yes, I am that much of a proud queerizen.
Oh well ;P

An Inconvenient Truth
No prizes for guessing which dvd was in the player...But seriously, An Inconvenient Truth is by far the most frightening, heartwrenching as well as inspirational documentary ever made by a political figure. At first I thought Al Gore was just being all environmental because he failed at the presidential elections, but after reading articles on him, watching that docu etc...Im beginning to think he's really just trying to help the Earth.
Seems like he's the man for the job, not tainted by the ugliness and scandal of politics, not stuck in an idealistic, denial world that many still live in; he's relatively brave to confront global warming head-on, and he's bringing it to the people. He's shoving the hard truths in our faces and saying, CAN YOU SEE THERE'S A PROBLEM NOW?? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT PLEASE?
I sure can see the problem now. What really broke my heart were the consequences on the ecosystem and wildlife of our selfishness and stupidity. Polar bears are drowning, can you believe it? They have no more ice to swim up to and theyre dying from fatigue. Try running or walking without resting for 60days. It pains me to know that because of what I'm doing, what I'm indirectly supporting, encouraging and indulging in (like leaving the comp on 24/7 or asking my mom to drive me to the train station or buying cheaper products because I dont wanna fork the extra buck for paper that's recycled or smthg) I am actually harming so many wildlife out there. And then here I am preaching about STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY ASSHOLES when I'm also one of those assholes.
So from today on, I promise to do my part to help the environment, in any way possible. I am not going to continue raping Earth and I hope you wont either.

Next Year, Pride!
Brisbane pride was on 15th June! Did you see that, love? When we plan for our holiday next year we MUST include pride in our itenary! And then we'll come back from the holiday, all trashed by the celebrations and blah, and I can finally say, I went for my first Pride!!
Good days.

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty
Mind-blowing, exciting, tantalising, albeit a little too short. Orgasmic, twice, to say the least.
Oh, I just love being a lesbian -grins.

Four Walls
Caught Oceans 13 today at vivo. It's been so long since I went there. Reminds me of....having to 'hide' away in remote parts of the island lest someone sees something they shouldnt see. I'm glad we dont have to do that anymore...
Anyway we sat next to a gay couple in the cinema and we were acting like it was pride and all that lame, kiasu, never-see-other-GLBTs-before stuff. It's quite stupid because I keep thinking that I dont need to feel like I belong somewhere, like I'm actually better than sheep that follow lies because of the need to feel wanted and a sense of belonging. But seeing other PLU and feeling happy...doesnt it make me like one of those theists too? Ugh. I shall not feel overly elated next time.
Reading lj communities makes me wanna go for Pride!! Wish they had that in stifling singapore but apparently it will promote the hideous, evil disease called homosexuality. It'd be great to have one. Just to, you know, terrify the homophobes.
And to, for once, celebrate being gay, instead of cowering, lying, hiding and being ashamed.

Like A Hundred Souls Escaping
Girlfriend is back for the next 1 month! And she brought back krispy kremes, random stranger on the train even asked me where I got them from lol. Even though I cant spend all my time with her (lest mates think I'm abandoning them) most or at least, some time is enough. Better than not seeing her at all =))
Happiness!

Late Night Pirates
I slept for just 3hrs last night but im refusing to sleep again now. Reached home around 3am this morning, woke up at 8am. I wish I could say something funky like, I was out partying with a buncha girls at some swanky lesbian hangout like Whynot but no, I was at suntec, cringing and gasping and laughing and widening-eyes at various moments of Pirates of the Carribean with my ex-colleagues-current-friends, lol.
Pirates was awesome, as expected. Johnny Depp has once again scored with his fantastic Sparrow antics. As usual Orlando Bloom only looked good at the end of the movie and Keira Knightly looked like a man, except just after she was forcibly kissed by Fatt (what a nice name) and she looked quite appealing with that messy, bed head look.
Jack (my ex-colleague, not Depp's character) and I were wondering why Knightly constantly looked like she had just emerged with another new oriental dress from Mango or Island Shop, and started talking about deep issues like global warming because they started showing scenes of melting ice caps and not so cold snow/ice because although the Pirates cast had snow and ice on them, they werent frozen to death despite wearing only 1 or 2 pieces of rags.
My greatest grievance was in but one character. Jack Sparrow's mother!! =( He must have loved his mother quite a fair deal because when he was sailing alone in a dodgy dingy, he had his dearly beloved mom's shrivelled head tied to his belt. LOL best moment!
oh SHIT! I just realised that we forgot to watch the after-credits!! -shrieks. DAMN!
